Communications and Stakeholder Relations

The mandate of the Authority under the Communications and Stakeholder Relations Division is to prevent anti-competitive practices and create a culture of competition and promote consumer rights through non-enforcement mechanisms.

This is achieved through: Public education on Competition Law and Consumer Protection, Stakeholder Relations, Internal and External Communication and Corporate Branding. This is in line with Section 5 of the Competition Act  which mandates the CCA to "inform and educate members of the public and persons engaged in trade or commerce about the powers and functions of the Authority; and Section 3 of the Consumer Protection Act which mandates the CCA to disseminate information and promote awareness of consumer rights and responsibilities amongst consumers and businesses, and to formulate and implement consumer education programmes in conjunction with regulators or consumer organisations.

In addition to this core mandate, the Division is also mandated with Corporate Social Responsibility functions.
