It supports the needs of the Authority in relation to budgeting, procurement, IT, recruitment and selection, staff retention, training and development, employee relations and employee wellness.

Some of the key functions of Corporate Services are:

They cover funding, requirements for the preparation of proper accounts, the annual audit, and preparation of the annual report.  The Authority has a Finance Regulations and Procedure Manual which clearly sets out the duties, responsibilities, procedures and policies which employees must observe relating to financial functions of the Authority.

Training and Development

The Authority strives to develop one of its most valued assets, its human resources, by providing work relevant skills training that can enable it to effectively respond to its business needs and achieve its strategic goals and objectives.  It has a Training and Development Policy in place which guides its training programme to equip its employees with the necessary skills to implement the Competition Act and Consumer Protection Act.

Staff Welfare and Team Building

The Competition and Consumer Authority has a Health and Safety Policy which aims to encourage employees to become a healthy and productive workforce. In line with this policy, it holds annual Wellness Days which encompass activities such as aerobics, health checks and motivational speeches. As one of its core values, the Authority further aims to promote teamwork amongst its employees and holds regular team building activities.

Procurement

The Authority has a Tender Regulations and Procedure Manual which was developed in collaboration with the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Board (PPADB). It also complies with the Economic Diversification Drive (EDD) policy to support local manufacturers and service providers.
